Harper Wicker Fundraiser

My name is Kathy and I have set up this GoFundMe page for my 5 year old friend Harper Wicker. Harper was diagnosed with leukemia in December just days after her 5th birthday. She was med-evacced from Fairbanks to Anchorage for treatment.

Her mom (Ashley Hoffman Wicker) and her Nan (Kim Hoffman) are her primary caregivers. One or both are always with Harper in Anchorage while Grandpa (Rob Hoffman) holds down the fort at home.

Harper is the bravest girl I know. She is away from home, gets "pokes" (blood draws, lumbar punctures/spinal taps, chemo infusions, etc) weekly, has a regiment of daily medications, and is losing her hair. She told me, "it will grow back though!" She will need to stay in Anchorage until at least June. After that, she will need to go down once a month (probably for 2 years).

Harper's favorite food is cheese (although dill pickels and salami slices come in as close seconds) and considers herself the "cheese queen." She loves the color pink, her stuffies, watching Bluey, her iPad, and winning at the dice game Tenzies. Now, she also has bald Barbie, a Repunzel hat, and a wheelchair.

Insurance covers a lot of the medical costs but not all...and the expenses related to staying in Anchorage (such as short-term apartment rental, airfare, and loss of income when Ashley is with Harper) all add up. I am setting a goal of $25,000 but Harper's battle with leukemia may be a long one, and more than that will be needed before it is over.
