Dear Good People of the Universe...
My name is Sage Grey and I'm in dire need of your support for my best friend and baby girl, Harper...
About three weeks ago, I got up to take Harper for her morning walk to find her trembling and unable to stand. Over the next three days and two vet visits, my fifteen-month-old pure energy puppy had become an immobile, pain-stricken little girl covered in sores and blisters.
Three different vets have yet to determine the cause but know that she had an anaphylactic shock response to something, and her organs swelled to the point of shutting down. They have finally got her internal response calmed, so her energy is coming back, but the skin infection that has taken over her entire body is relentless. Without resolution her body is likely to go into shock again and the organ swelling can become fatal.
I have spent over $3,000 so far, and unfortunately, since I've been unable to secure a decent job the past few months, that means I'm beyond maxed out on all of my finances. Plus, I already took out a personal loan. The next test will cost another $980, and that is just to hopefully have some direction on what is happening to her. The vet has informed me to prepare for several more thousand dollars before she's on her way to recovery. She'll need to be in the cone and heavily medicated for months once they can target the underlying issue.
Since I moved out at 15, I have never been in a place where I was not financially stable. This, unfortunately, is that moment for me. After my business partner embezzled our money and forged my name onto several loans before ditching the country, I have not been able to climb out of overbearing debt. This little gift of love with her big house elf ears and beautiful heart is the only thing that's been keeping my spirits alive. I've been selling everything I have in order to try to keep up, but the fact of the matter is I need help...
Thank you for taking the time to read this plea for assistance, and I hope you never have to deal with watching your fur kid be in so much discomfort without a way to make it better. Fingers crossed the vets will find the root of what's causing her body to react this way with the next round of tests, and she'll be on her way to recovery. Until then, I'll be the guy covered in Harper hair and scabs because there's no way I'm not giving her cuddles even if she's bleeding on me and it's gross... I guess that's what it means to truly love something unconditionally.
Cheers everybody,
Sage
