Harper Shae Morin

Back in March of 2023, we, as a family got the news that Shawn and Cassidy were welcoming a sweet bundle of joy in early October. But no one was more excited then Shawn and Cassidy.

As the months ticked by the preparation for baby Morin started to take place. We all patiently waited for the exciting news if baby Morin was going to be boy or a girl, when Shawn and Cassidy found out sweet baby Morin was a beautiful baby girl, they shared her precious name… Harper Shae. We now had a beautiful name to go with this beautiful baby girl. But the pregnancy hadn’t always been glorious. Cassidy and Shawn had been told early in her pregnancy that Harper’s umbilical cord only had two vessels as there is normally three, with this condition came potential risks. But Mom and Dad were strong, and did everything they could to protect their sweet baby girl.

As their family, we spent hours day dreaming about what our future would hold with this new little family of three, what the holidays would be like, who baby Harper would look like, and every possible “can’t wait for this” moment…

Shawn and Cassidy had a beautiful baby shower, that showered Miss. Harper with all the love from everyone who loved and supported this sweet family, Cassidy, Shawn, and precious little Harper. There was never a time, where you could not feel the love radiating from Cassidy and Shawn for their sweet little blessing. They could not wait to be the perfect parents for Harper.

In the last few weeks of the pregnancy, Cassidy and Shawn prepared Harper’s nursery for her beautiful arrival, spending hours in her nursery making sure everything was ready. Cassidy and Shawn spent these last few weeks together, soaking up their time together before they became Morin party of 3. Cassidy had shared with us that they had a doctors appointment coming on Monday and they were going see baby Harper and get an induction date! So exciting, Baby Harper is almost here!

On Monday, Cassidy’s birthday, Shawn and Cassidy got to see their sweet baby girl and be one step closer to the arrival of Harper and get to spend their time cherishing their beautiful daughter. They attended this appointment as they had all the rest for the past 9 months, but only this time it was different. They news they received was heartbreaking, devastating, a parent’s worst nightmare… There was no heartbeat.

Their life has changed forever. Cassidy and Shawn delivered their beautiful Harper, on September 28th at 4:09pm, surrounded by their families. She is beautifully perfect in every possible way. Mom and Dad cherishing every waking second with their beautiful angel. Deciding which features of Harper’s looked like mom or dad. Their families getting to shower this beautiful baby and new family of three with nothing but love.

No one or thing prepares you for something like this. Cassidy and Shawn have been so strong, supportive, loving to one another through this difficult time. As first time parents, you beg for the day to come to meet your child, but for Shawn and Cassidy, their story is different. Their hearts mourn the loss of their beloved daughter. Their hearts mourn the beautiful life they pictured as Morin party of 3.

As this tragedy was extremely unexpected and so unfortunate, Cassidy and Shawn are having to lay their daughter to rest. The funeral cost was not something this sweet family was expecting to pay. As their families and friends, if you are able to bless them with some financial assistance to support them through this difficult process, they would be greatly thankful.

This sweet mom and dad now have to navigate through this new life together without their pride and joy, and if we can come together and shower them with love and unconditional support, and if you are able to bless them with financial assistance, may we do so, to help them through this new long difficult journey.
