I Samuel 1:27a “For this child I prayed”
Josh and Brittany Wiley were so excited to share the news that they were expecting their third bundle of joy this past summer. Every doctor’s appointment, every new day, and every minute brought the birth date of their precious baby closer. A game of guessing the baby’s gender happened on social media because this baby was so stubborn! The ultrasound technicians tried for a few weeks to tell Brittany and Josh the gender and everyone on social media anxiously awaited the news. Finally, they were able to share that a beautiful baby girl, their third, would be joining their family! As the weeks and days quickly flew by, Brittany began having some complications which resulted in extra doctor appointments and checkups. Brittany was hospitalized to ensure that everything was progressing well, and was eventually sent home. A few weeks later, Brittany was hospitalized again with high blood pressure and pre-eclampsia. She was kept for several days as the doctors tried to make a game plan for the remaining 9 weeks of the pregnancy. Brittany was rushed back to the hospital, less than 12 hours, after being discharged. Brittany’s placenta ruptured and a traumatic C-Section followed. An absolutely beautiful baby girl with delicate features and red hair, similar to big sister and Daddy’s hair, Harper Mae, was born silent on September 21, 2019. As of today, Brittany is still hospitalized as she begins the long healing process. Our lives are blessed for the time that Harper Mae was given to us. Even though we will forever mourn the loss of our baby girl, we know that His Plans are good, even when our human hearts cannot understand. “Mae” means “Precious Gem” and our sweet Harper Mae will forever be one of our precious gems.
We have started this Go Fund Me account to help ease the financial burdens that have been placed on Josh and Brittany. Josh has recently changed jobs, and doesn’t have any personal time off built up yet. He has spent every day and night with Brittany at the hospital as they mourn the loss of their precious baby girl. Emma and Adalynn are both home schooled, and Lisa, Brittany’s Mom, has stepped up and is taking care of the two older girls. Lisa is also unable to work at this time because she is the girls sole caregiver as their parents are still in the hospital. Josh and Brittany’s household bills are still coming in, and now they will have the unfair bills from the hospital and from the funeral home. Planning your baby’s funeral is a task that no parent should ever have to face. If you feel led to contribute to this account, share our story, or most importantly, pray for our beloved family as we begin the healing process, please do so. The coming days, weeks, and months will be some of the hardest months for us, but we are so thankful to have you all to love on us and help heal our broken hearts.
