Help Harper Heal and Find Peace

My family needs support after the welcoming our newest member. His name is Harper. He's a remarkably gentle 2-year-old Pitbull. He was was a bait dog who's been through unimaginable emotional and physical trauma. We want to help him heal and it’s requiring a significant financial investment - his first vet visit alone was $3700.
We saw Harper on TikTok at a kill-shelter in Dallas. He wasn't eating, drinking, or showing signs that he was willing or able to continue living. He was emaciated, covered in bite wounds, lethargic, and depressed. It's believed Harper was used as a bait dog - an inexperienced dog that is used to teach fighting dogs how to fight.
We had never seen a dog look like this before and felt we had to do something. I saw Harper on a Tuesday night, booked and boarded a flight from Minneapolis to Dallas on Wednesday, adopted Harper and took him to and emergency vet for the overnight care he needed Wednesday night, then made the 15 hour drive to arrive at his new home Friday afternoon.
We're doing all we can to make sure Harper's cared for, knows he's safe, and can live a "normal" life after all he's been through. And he's doing great! Harper is eating and drinking voraciously and really showing his personality. He's insatiably curious, wonderfully gentle, lives to play with any/all toys, and is still a little clumsy.
While Harper is making a fantastic recovery, his healing is far from over. His bite wounds are severe and continue to present new challenges and concerns as his body heals from all he's been through. That means covering an ongoing list of vet bills that's making life difficult for the rest of our family. Between the overnight vet visit and sustained care our local vet is able to provide, we've spent (and will continue to spend) thousands of dollars. We want to make sure Harper gets the care that he needs, and times are financially uncertain.
WARNING - Images of Harper's current bite wounds shared below and may be disturbing
Times are weird and scary. We need a community and help to make sure this little guy gets to live the life he so desperately deserves. Any amount you can give goes directly to Harper's care and is greatly appreciated.
We cannot thank you enough!
