Harnish Family Survival fund

Hi, my name is Dustin Harnish. It has been my lifelong dream to be an actor in Los Angeles, and I have done so in fact since 2006. My résumé consist of 26 different films and TV shows. The problem is, I haven’t made very much money over the years in my craft. I recently lost my job in October with the hopes of starting a new job, one that was promised to me and it fell through unfortunately.

While I continue to work little side jobs for now, barely making ends meet, trying to feed a two-year-old as well as my wife who stays home with our daughter because child care is as expensive as our rent. When I’m not working, she is but we can’t seem to catch up from deep water. We’re both doing everything that we can right now, and it has been difficult after the SAG-AFTRA strike, then losing my day job, I’ve been left with nothing.

I went from a decent paying day-job with an experiential marketing company, which kept me grounded and my bills paid, rent paid but no savings. It’s extremely expensive in Los Angeles and for the first time in many years I’ve not been able to pay my rent this month in December 2023 and not sure how I’m going to come up with January 2024 unless a miracle happens.

Any money I have coming in at the moment is just providing food for my family and keeping our phones on and our car current so we can search for work and take work as it comes in. I’ve never had to ask for help like this in my life but now that I’m a father and it’s not just about me anymore.

I feel humbled to have to ask out for help to the people around me that care about me and want to see me succeed, the burden of this financial crisis has caused severe stress and worry, not knowing where the next dollar comes from. Not being able to provide a sound piece of mind to my wife and child while trying my hardest, has seriously taken it’s toll.

I’m hoping that this can rejuvenate our sense of family and trust that our abilities will get us to the next thing. But as for now we could really use the help. I don’t have the credit to ask for a loan, since all of my bills have been piling up. The dollar amount that I’ve requested would allow me to pay my past due rent and get my family out of hot water and back on track.

I deeply wish to continue my life’s work as an actor so that I can finally accomplish a living that is suitable to take care of my family. I’ve put in so many hard years and made so many sacrifices just to give it all up and give up is not a part of my make up. I will accomplish this one day soon, but I could really use a blessing right now so I can feed my family.

I deeply appreciate any contribution and I would not be asking if I wasn’t in dire need during these difficult times, especially during the holiday season, the worst time. I appreciate it and my family appreciates it.
