Harnas Wildlife Foundation

The COVID-19 virus is a global thing and is affecting every single one of us. The tourism sector however has been hit the hardest and Harnas Wildlife Foundation is no less affected. Our source of income just stopped at the moment. No guests or volunteers are allowed in and therefor no bookings are made due to the insecurity of the current situation. It is estimated that this crisis may last for a period of 6 months or longer. Even when the travel ban gets lifted, it will take us approximately 3 months to recover economically. We cannot shut down Harnas, we have the responsibility to care for hundreds of animals and our animals need to be fed on a daily basis. We obviously cannot and will not let them down. The cost of feeding our animals amounts to NAD11500/day this equals to £525/day or €525/day or USD645/day. This is only the cost for food and does not include cost of salaries of our employees needed to maintain animal enclosures, essential veterinary costs, electricity and so much more.

Many of our followers asked if we could set up a donation page and so we have now set up a GoFundMe page. We cannot really set a goal amount as this is an ongoing crisis and we do not know when this will end. We hope donations will keep coming even if the goal is reached. NO amount is too small or too big .
