Harlow-Storm’s NEC fight - fight for a cure

Hello all

** I have edited the amount that is our goal to help cover the cost of the order of service booklets for little lady’s special day. Thank you

** second edit the fundraising goal is on automatic and I can’t find how to change it so it’s now go fund me upping the goal not me. We are so thankful for all those who have donated and those that are waiting on payday even those who have just read her story and shared the posts. Thank you

welcome to my go fund me in memory of our precious princess angel Harlow-Storm who we sadly lost to NEC on 1st April 2026 just 29 days old.

Many of you have been very supportive and if I thought we as a family could deal with it I would have invited you all to her upcoming funeral, however this isn’t something I am ready for so we are keeping it as family only. If you can and would like to donate please do we will be very grateful !

Harlow - storm was born at 28 weeks and 5 days gestation weighing just 955g. She was breathing alone from the get go and was doing so well, on the morning of 1st April 2026 at 415am I got a call no nicu parent wants to get “I’m afraid Harlow has developed Necrotising Enterocolitis” (NEC) a serious bowel infection. This infection strikes and develops fast. 1 in a 10 babies that weigh less than 3lb 3 oz will sadly develop this evil infection. It took less than 24 hours to take our precious girl from us ! Please help prevent this happening to others x

As you can imagine this has had an immense effect on us as a family. Our precious girl was doing amazingly well until this took hold and then stole her from us.

more babies lose their life to NEC than children of leukaemia.

1 in 4 diagnosed with NEC will need surgery

3 in 5 that need surgery will require further surgery

3 babies a week will lose their life to NEC than children in the whole of the uk !

something needs to be done to help prevent and or cure this fast acting infection that is taking too many lives.

The money raised on the go fund me will be split equally between

1. NEC uk I can’t do it directly as their charity number isn’t recognised on go fund me as not many people have raised awareness of it.

2. Us as a family to create a wall of memories in our house for our precious girl and a cabinet to keep her ashes safe when she is returned to us.

please help in any way you can we really appreciate it ! Together we can fight this and hopefully find a cure !
