Harley Auten (hit & run victim)

Hi all! My name is Megan Schuster. I’ve created this to help Harley Auten’s family.

Harley was a resident of Jefferson, OR. He had taken to walking, biking and playing basketball to lose weight. He had lost over 40lbs. On 8/12/23 while doing his usual ride to Jefferson Elementary he was hit by a motorist. ** edited some details out as some friends/family found it hard to read He was alive for the first who stopped but, shortly there after tragically passed away.

the motorist who hit him stopped at first but, according to witnesses seemed to be drunk and then took off before waiting for police. Pictures of his license plate and vehicle have been given to police as well as statements from witnesses.

family will be helping to pay for immediate funeral expenses however, Harley was also the main financial support for his mother.

any funds donated will all be given to her directly to cover their homes space rent, utilities and immediate needs as she learns to navigate this world without her son.
