Harlan "BJ" Webster's Recovery

Welcome and thank you for viewing Harlan “BJ” Webster’s donation page. My name is Jonathan and I have been BJ’s friend since middle school.  BJ suffered a massive stroke on June 21st 2016 at the age of 36. The stroke has had a major effect on his speech, mobility and certain cognitive abilities. While BJ has made tremendous progress in the last few weeks, he still has a long road ahead of him in the coming weeks, months and years.

Prior to this week, BJ had been receiving intensive occupational, speech and physical therapy. The intensive nature of these therapies proved to have a positive impact on BJ’s recovery process.  Unfortunately, due to insurance reasons, BJ was moved out of the rehabilitation hospital. Because of this, he does not receive the same amount of intensive therapy that he desperately needs in order to maintain and advance in his recovery.

BJ is a Purdue Boilermaker and a graduate of Pike High School (Indianapolis) where he excelled in math, science and was an avid percussionist. Once at Purdue, he joined the Iota Phi Theta fraternity where he honed his skills in leadership, public speaking as well as social advocacy. Later, his leadership skills carried him forward once again to work for a premier company in Lafayette, Indiana (School Datebooks Inc.) where he served in a supervisory role.  This is just a glimpse of the BJ that we know and love and it is our hope that you will partner with us to get him through the recovery process.

Your donation will go directly to BJ’s family to assist in getting BJ the therapy that he urgently needs as well as to cover the costs related to his inpatient hospital stays.
