Hargeisa fire and Somaliland support

Over the weekend a terrible fire destroyed the main market in Hargeisa. As many of you will know I still have family members living there and it is a place that is very special to me.

 

Therefore, I am asking for your support by donating to the gofundme account that I have set up to assist the people who need our help now more than ever.

 

In the very immediate term, we need to provide for the small individual traders, many of whom were women, who now have no source of income. We also need to take care of the health and wellbeing of all those directly affected.

 

Since the fire I have been speaking with many government officials and organisations based in Hargeisa to ensure the money that you so generously donate gets to the areas where it is needed most.
