I’m working full-time, part-time, and overtime to study abroad in Romania for 10-days — a little support will help me reach this incredible goal!

Hello everyone!

My name is Madeline M. and I’m a Business Management student at Kirkwood Community College. This coming March 2026, I have the incredible opportunity to travel to Romania for a 10-day international business program. During this program, I’ll collaborate with college students from five other countries to solve real-world business challenges for actual clients.

I am so excited for this chance to gain hands-on global experience, ranging from learning how business is done across cultures, to developing teamwork and leadership skills, and creating lifelong connections.

I will get to be part of an international team of business students working directly with companies from six different countries. Together, we will research, collaborate, and present a proposal to the company we are assigned to help solve a real business issue they are facing. I hope this opportunity will allow me to take what I’ve learned in the classroom and apply it in a global setting while learning from peers around the world.

I am currently taking classes at Kirkwood part-time while working a full-time job and a part-time job. I also plan to pick up as much overtime as possible throughout the holidays and around my classes to help fund this trip.

Even with all that, the total cost can add up quickly. I am determined to make this opportunity happen, but I would be incredibly grateful for any support to help close the gap.

The total program cost is $3,500. This will cover transportation (including airfare), lodging, tuition, and meals for the 10-day program.

Every little bit helps bring me closer to reaching my goal and allows me just a little more time with family during the holidays instead of needing to work every minute to fund this program.
