My name is Jasmine, and I'm starting this fundraiser for my mom, Melinda Caldwell. She was diagnosed with follicular B-cell lymphoma (grade 1-2) in December of 2021 at just 41 years old. Since then, she has faced every challenge with courage and hope, but now, her condition has progressed, and she urgently needs help.

In December of 2024, doctors confirmed that the lymphoma had spread from her abdomen to her armpit and is now in grade 2. Since then, three more lumps have been discovered, and she's scheduled for more scans next month (November) to determine if the cancer has further spread.

Despite all of this, my mom continues to work two jobs, seven days a week, just to make ends meet, all while going through a difficult, emotionally and financially draining divorce. She's exhausted mentally and physically yet refuses to give up.

Given her past medical history with Lyme disease, she has a compromised immune system. It is for this reason we are fearful of what the outcome of her attempting chemo might be. With all things considered and given the current state of my mom's health, we have decided to attempt to give her the best shot at remission via CMN Cancer Hospital, a specialized cancer center in Mexico which offers effective alternative treatments. But I can't do it alone. ALL of the money raised will be used to not only cover the travel expenses to get my mom to Mexico, but also the life-saving treatments needed to save her life.

Melinda is a doting mother to her four children, one of whom is still a minor, a grandmother to 7, and my best friend. I don't want to imagine a life where my children, nieces, and nephews don't get to know the selfless, courageous, caring, and authentic hard-working woman that my mom is and always has been.
