Anyone who knows Deven can say he is a man who never says "I can't ." He's made it his mission to prove the world wrong about what he is capable of despite being born with only one arm. But now, he needs some support. I'm creating this in hopes that Deven, my sister Melanie, and their little one can get the support they need. After 6 months of waiting, they finally received the answer as to why his arm is failing him. Deven has a torn rotator cuff, torn bicep, and tendonitis in his ONLY arm. He has to have surgery immediately if he has any chance at repairing, again, his only arm. After surgery, he will be immobilized in a sling for a 6-8 week recovery. During this time, he will be unable to use his arm at all.

Additionally, he's looking at 6 months of rehabilitation before he can resume complete normal work activities. Anyone who knows this family knows they work hard and always help others in any way they can. Despite Devens's pain, he has been working this entire time while waiting for a diagnosis while Melanie has been rallying behind him, but things have finally come to a head. Despite having good insurance, the surgery itself is estimated to cost 2k. Followed up by unpaid FMLA leave for Deven, the expenses are piling up quickly. Despite Melanie's resourcefulness, they are in quite a bind and need to get this done before his condition worsens.
