Hardworking and Facing Eviction

Hey guys, I’m just going to be upfront and honest. This is very embarrassing to do this. Without going into insane detail, the last two years of my life have been extremely rough and beyond difficult. I worked at a school for 14 months as an outdoor custodian, and I was breaking my back only to bring home $1000 off an 80-hour biweekly paycheck. I started falling behind on rent in February and switched jobs to where I’m making more money, but it seems no matter what I do, I can’t get out of this hole I’ve been in. I have been looking for a new job and I currently am still trying very hard.

I came home today to a letter on my door for the first time saying anything about me being behind. Keep in mind I started falling behind in February and I’ve been two months behind since March. Every time I’ve paid, I’m still two months behind. They haven’t even reached out to me until I saw this letter today telling me I have one week to pay everything or I will have to go to court and pay additional fees and see what happens from there. I cannot lose this subsidized living apartment I am currently living in because I will never find a cheaper rent to help me build for my future. Anything would help me tremendously. Once again, I express this is beyond embarrassing, but this letter on my door today pushed me to do this. In all honesty, I just want a better life for my son and I and I don't know what else to do.
