Harden Moor Baby Owlet needs help
Donation protected
On the 10th May whilst walking my dog at Harden Moor I came across a baby owlet on the ground, sadly he died in my hands after sustaining an injury to the head - likely from falling out of the nest. I tried everything to keep him alive but sadly it wasnt enough, THEN on the 13th a lady called Lisa was walking her dogs in the exact same place and found a LIVE baby owlet. She placed the baby on a branch but sadly due to the high footfall in the area and the many dogs it wasnt safe to wait and see if Mum would come back. So , I raced up to rescue her ( we've named her Olivia).
After making lots of phone calls to vets / wildlife places a Sanctuary in Settle called Craven wildlife were amazing and agreed to take her. I drove over and delivered Olivia to a foster mum who is raising another Owlet. Ive had updates and she is doing amazing ! If she makes it she will come back to our moors to be released and live her life here - We will also be invited to the release :)
Given that many of us around the area enjoy Harden Moors , Im sure you will feel as l do that its our responsibility to care for the wildlife where we can. I would love to help towards the costs of caring / feeding / rehabilitating our Olivia over the next 4 months. Also a little thankyou to the foster mum- Hillary ( who is a volunteer) - is up every couple of hours a night looking after Olivia.
So far, Olivia has received treatment for dehydration and is being fed by hand every few hours. So far so good !
Any amount would be greatly appreciated :) Thankyou for me and Olivia
