Hard Transitions: Giving Back to the Community
Donation protected
Hello everyone. Thank you for stopping by. I am looking to give back to my community in a few different ways. I want to help people who are going through a hard life transition as well as those who may have been perceived one way, but turned out differently.
I have been writing my memoir the past three years. I just finished the first pass at editing the book, and now I ready to obtain a copyright as well as hire a copyeditor. Obtaining a copyright costs $45 digitally. A copyeditor costs $300 on average.
I am also looking to go into professional speaking. I have been in Toastmasters for two and half years. I have been part of the Speaker's Bureau of Arizona for one year. Now it is time to take the next step. Putting yourself out there professionally as a speaker requires a website with a demo video, sizzle reel, and professional pictures of yourself. Squarespace costs $800 a year. Professional pictures costs $500. There will also be travel costs to and from events which will have variable costs as well.
It would be best for me to upgrade my equipment that I use for connecting with other people and make videos from. I have got a Samsung 5 phone. It only has 1GB of space left even after getting rid of the unnecessary data. A solid new phone that would keep me future proof for quite awhile would cost $800. Same can be said for the laptop I have. It is an HP laptop with a basic graphics card and has 237GB of solid state space. I am going to require a gaming laptop with a high end graphics card to make videos of higher quality. 2 TB of Solid state memory should the trick.
$7,000 is what I will need to get the ball rolling. I have already put in a great deal of work. Now it is time for me to take things further than they haver gone.
