Hard Times Hit Hard—Support Needed After Job Loss and Injury

Hey everyone,

I’m reaching out on behalf of one of my best friends, Erica, a hardworking single mom to Gianna (14) and Dominic (11). If you know Erica, you absolutely know she is the last person to ask for help while she is there for everyone who needs her, so I am putting this out there for her. She’s been doing everything she can to provide for her family, but life has thrown her some serious challenges all at once.

On March 21st, just two days before her birthday, Erica unexpectedly lost her job after seven years with the company. Despite the shock, she stayed positive and immediately started job hunting. Then, on March 29th, things took another turn—she suffered a broken foot in an accident.

While she was luckily able to get medical attention before her insurance lapsed, this injury has made it even harder for her to regain stability—especially since she drives a manual car, which she now can’t operate as it requires the use of both feet.

How You Can Help

Erica is doing everything she can to get back on her feet (literally and financially), but she needs some help to get through this rough patch.

Medical Expenses – Erica and her kids rely on daily medications, and with a lapse in insurance, she’s had to pay for 10 prescriptions out of pocket. The injury to her foot may require additional appointments that cannot wait until she is able to receive assistance.

Rent – The most urgent need, with a due date of April 5th.

Utilities, Car Payment & Groceries – Any extra funds will go toward keeping the lights on, food on the table (for both the family and their pets), and ensuring she can get back to work as soon as possible.

She’s already applied for assistance and unemployment, but those take time to process—and unfortunately, bills don’t wait.
