Harare Children's Hospital Relief Fund

Over the last six years, my brother and I have spent several months traveling within Zimbabwe. Over time, we've grown to understand how people live there and forged several friendships that will last a lifetime. However, we have realized how hard is it to receive proper medical care, especially for children. In partnership with the JF Kapnek Trust, a charitable foundation based in Zimbabwe, we have created this fundraiser on behalf of the Harare Children’s Hospital Trust to help raise money for the Harare Central Children’s Hospital.

The money raised has and will continue to go towards improving the safety and quality of care within the hospital, funding the purchases of medical supplies and equipment, and upgrading key infrastructure including the entrance area and children’s surgery wards. We visit the hospital on an annual basis and have seen firsthand how much of a difference this fundraiser has made, which has only strengthened our desire to continue this project for the next several years.

Between this fundraiser and direct donations, over $170,000 has already been raised, and we are well on the way towards our short-term goal of $250,000 for the Children's Hospital. Ultimately, with the help of other large NGOs, we are hoping to raise over $1M as we actively look to expand this project to every major children's hospital in Zimbabwe and further our long-term goal of being involved in African healthcare advancement.
