Harajuku Tattoo Expansion Plan

Donation protected

ミ☆ Hi hi, thank you for visiting our fundraiser! ฅ(´ര ̫ ര`) My name is Arcissa Jackson, but you can call me "Cissa"(See-Suh)✨. I am a kawaii tattoo artist and founder of Harajuku Tattoo, Florida’s first BIPOC/Queer-owned and operated Kawaii tattoo shop located in Jacksonville, FL. In 2017 I created Harajuku Tattoo in pursuit of my dream to build a magical tattoo shop where I could share my love for kawaii tattoo art/culture, as well as provide a safe space for minorities, women and queer individuals to feel seen, welcomed and respected. ( ˘ ᵕ˘(˘ᵕ ˘ ) Since then Harajuku Tattoo has become more than just a tattoo shop, it is a community-based business that represents and celebrates the very individuals who are a part of the subculture of body modification and alternative fashion/art culture.

As an intersectional, neurodivergent, biracial-Black/Filipino womxn(she/they) who has been in the tattoo industry since 2007, I've experienced and witnessed the types of challenges that affect marginalized individuals in the tattoo world and as a result have cultivated a deep sense of compassion, understanding and community surrounding the progress of inclusion in the tattoo industry.

Between 2017 and now we've operated as a private tattoo studio within the perimeters of a 300 sq. ft. office unit. During this time our team at Harajuku Tattoo has grown from a one-womxn operation to a 4 person crew and growing! As you can imagine we have quickly outgrown our tiny studio quarters!! ( ᵒ̴̶̷̥́ ·̫ ᵒ̴̶̷̣̥̀ )

We are seeking community support to raise funds to enable us to relocate to a larger studio location and operate as a public tattoo shop by Spring 2023. Our goal is to reach $50,000 by April 1st, 2023! ପ( ໊๑˃̶͈⌔˂̶͈)*ೃ♡

☆ Relocate and secure a shop space in the riverside area (5 points).
☆ Provide training/volunteer/job opportunities for marginalized individuals in the tattoo/piercing industry.
☆ Operate as a safe space public shop and a third place for our community.
☆ Use our platform to promote community values, create connections and celebrate creativity.
☆ Develop a mutual aid program through tattoo/piercing specials and our gift shop. A portion of our efforts will go toward helping promote/provide mutual aid for people in need in our communities.
☆ Provide funding to cover:

⋆operation cost
⋆ labor
⋆ leasing
⋆ permits
⋆ licensing

☆ We believe that our tattoo shop will continue to grow and become known as a magical place to go to if you share a love for tattoos, kawaii/cute culture, fashion and pop culture and want to be a part of a community of like-minded people in our city.
