The Happy Place Reunion Music and Arts Festival is a big party in Burnet County occurring each October since 2022. This year the celebration will take place on Saturday October 5th. The show includes 6+ hours of live music from local artists, as well as friends from across the country, magic from a professional magician, food, games, local vendors, DIY art stations and more! Our party is built to be a celebration for all the good people of Central Texas to enjoy a beautiful fall day under the Texas sky, joining with friends new and old, and creating beautiful memories together. The show is acceptable for all folks, all ages, all walks of life.
Our festival grounds are in beautiful Happy Place, TX, three miles west of Watson, just off 183. We are about 55 mi north of Austin and 15 south of Lampasas.
The festival is 100% homegrown, built organically over the years. When we started in 2022, we sure didn’t know what we were getting into, but we figured it was worth the try. Now in our third year, we are still learning the ropes of festival building, but we’ve got two great years under our belt and we are looking to have our best festival yet!
Our purpose is to build a show that feels like something true to Burnet County and our part of the world. Our goal is to build a show that represents our diverse population of good folks. In Happy Place, you will not find large corporate sponsors from banks, credit card or insurance companies. Instead, we take pride in being built by our community and for our community - all right here at home. We work to ensure it is affordable at just $20 per ticket, $8 for a plate of food, free parking and we’re BYOB. We want this to be the best way someone could imagine spending a Saturday; a beautiful day with family and friends, enjoying art, the beautiful Texas landscape, and enjoying music, art and the beauty of life together.
It takes a village to build a homegrown festival, and there are many ways to get involved. We are looking for any idea you may have of how to make this the coolest, most welcoming show possible for all folks across central Texas. If you’re interested in helping in any way, we’d love to hear about it. Maybe this includes being a vendor, volunteering at the show, donating goods or services, or making a financial donation.
Our goal is to raise $3,000 for this year’s festival. If we meet our goal, we can ensure our festival is built acquiring no credit card debts. With this, we will also ensure we are able to guarantee each performing artist a rate of pay.
More specifically, here’s how we got to $3000:
Toilets/ Trash removal - $750
Groceries for festival builders/volunteers - $500
Stage gear/Sound rental - $400
Photographer/Videographer - $200
Local promotion - $200
Hauling folks/trailers/gear fuel - $200
Insurance - $250
Grounds lighting - $150
Promotional printing - $150
Diesel for generators - $100
Miscellaneous - $100
Notice that this list does not include things like merch, concessions, or any items we can make from at the show. This is a list of things we must have to be able to build our festival that provide no financial upside. Having these things covered lifts a huge financial burden off the festival.
