I've always thought about writing a book, but it's hard to find something you're qualified to write about.
But I've been covering Penn State hockey since Day 1.
Hours of interviews and a few months later, I've got a book to show for it. It's the story of Penn State hockey, the people and the seasons that took the program from club to the NCAA Tournament in five short years.
Why GoFundMe? Words are surprisingly expensive. In a few weeks this book will be available directly from Amazon, but GoFundMe gives me a chance to make back a bit of what I invested in the project out of my own pocket. I expect the price at Amazon will be $15.99
How it works? You'll order the book from me, I'll order the books from Amazon when they are ready and hence skip their royalty, and send them to you. So really this is about supporting me as much as it's getting the book. If you really just want the book but don't really like me, wait a few weeks and you can buy it on Amazon or for your Kindle.
RISKS?
Amazon is still in the process of formatting the book and physically putting it together. So if the company folds between now and November I'll have to go a different route. But that seems unlikely.

“Can I tell you my feelings, are you cool with that?” Gadowsky said with his patented grin, fiddling with a ball of tape in his hand as his team looked on.
"So this game, what you’re playing for is a trip to the Big Ten Championship,” he said as he started to walk. "For the program, that would mean a great deal. Telling you my feelings? That would mean a great deal, too. It also would basically guarantee you guys would be going to the NCAA Tournament. That also would be huge for the program and since I’m telling you my feelings, I think that would be extremely cool and would mean a ton to me, too.”
But then Gadowsky went quiet, and his tone changed. Suddenly he too remembered that last-second heartbreak to Minnesota, or perhaps he had never stopped thinking about it.
“With that being the case, I’ve got to honest with you. All I can think of right now is how bad I want to beat that team,” Gadowsky said, his voice cracking, pointing towards the door where the Gophers lay in wait. "So please go ahead and do that, alright?"
