Here we are! Happy Schools International Online course (HSIO) is now a reality!
Launched in 2016 by Eurasia Learning Institute for Happiness and Wellbeing (ELI), the Happy School program operates in countries like Vietnam, Switzerland, Germany, and Ukraine, as well as online (HSIO). It brings together students, teachers, school leaders, health services, local authorities, and academic experts in pedagogy, psychology, neuroscience, and health.
Our journey with HSIO began with a year of passionate volunteer efforts and incredible donor support, allowing us to develop and launch the 40-week program pilot within a 9-month timeframe. This has set a strong foundation for the HSIO program's growth and success.
As we look ahead to 2026, we're committed to refining and expanding the course, aiming to inspire educators worldwide. Our mission is clear: to provide free, transformative education for all and to build a global community of practice.

Why now?
The world needs optimism and creativity for a harmonious future. HSIO answers this call by promoting Social and Emotional Learning, emphasizing care for self, others, and the planet.
We believe that co-creating joyful and caring educational systems starts with nurturing the professional community, and supporting teachers first and foremost. By caring for educators, we empower them to embody, develop, and transmit essential social and emotional competencies — creating ripple effects throughout entire learning ecosystems.
Our Aim
We inspire educators globally to join a vibrant community, shaping the future together through skill development and collective growth. Our framework is rooted in the experience of Happy Schools and aligns with global indicators and humanitarian principles.
It is also deeply anchored in the principles of the Inner Development Goals (IDGs) and inspired by the values of Gross National Happiness. These frameworks guide our commitment to human flourishing, mindful education, and systems transformation — grounded in well-being, sustainability, and interconnectedness.
Prototyping Year Achievements
In our first year, over 300 professionals from around the world applied. Finally we identify 99 participants that joined us to:
- explore and enhance socio-emotional skills
- provide feedback for course improvement
- create educational materials for peers
- contribute real-world experiences to future editions
