The amazing Naj Ranglal has been hit with a trifecta of debilitating diseases that have treatments, but they are costly ones.
1. End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD): Naj's kidney function has declined to the point that the kidneys can no longer function on their own. He is currently on PD dialysis every night for 8 hours. Most people do not live more than 5 years on dialysis ... so we need to save him now!
2. Diabetic Retinopathy: Progressive damage to the retina on both eyes, leading to blindness. He gets Anti-Veg F injections in both eyes every 4 weeks, and has a rare reaction of extremely painful corneal abrasions every time he receives them.
3. Diabetes Type 1 and Type 2: Naj takes 2 types of insulin (1 daily slow-releasing injection and 3 fast-acting insulin shots before each meal).
In December of 2019 in NYC, Naj was admitted into the ICU and quickly became a hospital resident. The diagnosis? Ridiculous-high blood pressure that had doctors baffled to how he did not have a stroke, let alone have the ability to simply stand. After many round of steroids, tests, drugs (not the fun kind) and a kidney biopsy, Naj was officially diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD).
As a hardworking freelancer, Naj needs the help of friends and family as he prepares for kidney/pancreas transplants and stem cell therapy for treating his eyes and preparing his body for the transplants.
So for this holiday, join me in celebrating "Najgiving" and give thanks to Naj by helping him on this very promising, but expensive journey.
There is no heart and soul more deserving of our help than our wonderful and beloved Naj.
Should you prefer not to donate via GoFundMe, please direct message me and I can provide you with other arrangements.
