Look Who’s Turning Two!

On the day Ian was born, we learned he had severe hydrocephalus (water on the brain) that destroyed 95% of his brain tissue in utero. He wasn’t expected to survive the day... or the next day... or the next day...

After two weeks in critical care, Ian was sent home on hospice with less than 5% chance of surviving for a month. But Ian is a fighter, God is a miracle worker, and they both had other plans.

That was two years (and two brain surgeries) ago, and Ian has blown past all the experts’ expectations for him; from neurologists who never thought he’d live to eye doctors who never thought he’d see.

There’s so many reasons for Ian’s astounding progress, and each of you is one of those reasons. You’ve prayed for us, encouraged us, fed us, checked in on us, and have just been there for us through everything.

So as we celebrate Ian’s 2nd Birthday, we’d also like to thank all of you: his Prayer Army, friends, family, fellow superheros, and those of you who’ve been following Ian’s story but haven’t yet met Ian. We simply would not be where we are today without your amazing support, love, and prayers for our family over the past two years.

So thank you, and we hope to see you at Ian’s birthday party!

And Just Like Last Year...

...we already have people asking what they can get Ian for his birthday. For Ian’s first birthday, you all helped raise enough to cover Ian’s stem cell treatment, and there’s no doubt it’s made a huge difference over the past year.

So this year, just like last year, we’ve created this fundraiser for those of you who wish to help Ian get a second stem cell treatment AND attend a highly-recommended, week-long, intensive neuro-therapy (MNRI) program. These two therapies are crucial for Ian’s continued development and will help him reach his full potential. So, in leiu of gifts, those wishing to help can donate.

We believe Ian is such a special gift to us and we are so thankful we live in a country that has these opportunities for our children with disabilities. He is a unique and happy child, and we are honored to be his parents.
