On Sunday, March 15th we laid off 29 employees from our two restaurants in response to the NYC requirement that we can no longer have guests in our dining room. In order to help keep everyone safe and healthy, we had to temporarily say goodbye to our staff. From our diligent cooks to the thoughtful service staff to the dishwashers who work tirelessly; they are our family, our heart & our soul! And we miss their diverse personalities, all magically having a shared commitment to working hard to make and serve great food.
The chef team, Ben & I are running a takeout/delivery operation but we think about their well-being everyday. As we try to maintain some stability for their return, and wait for potential aid via the stimulus bill and government loans, we want to assist with some of their basic needs e.g. groceries, utilities and medicine. Since we don't know how long this will last, our goal is to provide a little something to each employee in an ongoing basis. Let's keep them healthy, positive & strong so everyone can return to work when the time comes!
Your contribution is appreciated in a way that cannot be described. We hope that we have provided a warm place for you to drown your sorrows in a bowl of pho, or celebrate your triumphs with a family-style feast of summer rolls, papaya salads, bun cha & che sundaes and look forward to thanking each of you in person as soon as possible!
In addition to accepting donations, please visit Our Shop for ways to contribute via purchases of gift cards, pottery & apparel.
Thank you!
