Hello, strangers and friends.

Welcome to my Grad Collection Fundraising page!

 

For the past year and a half, I have been working hard to develop my fashion and costume design skills, studying hard at LCI Melbourne.

 

I have created three pieces so far, responding to various briefs, but now it is time for me to unleash my potential to make MY FINAL COLLECTION consisting of up to six outfits, including multiple clothing items.

 

 

 

 

 

Even though we are at very early stages in the process, I am excited to get going and share the adventure with you.

 

For those who are not sure what goes into designing and bringing to life a collection here is an example of the work I did last trimester and how long it took:

 

This list does not include the time it takes to source fabrics, design and curate a portfolio, nor the stress and mental toll it takes to create a garment from scratch.

 

And this is why I have decided to create a fund to go towards all the fabrics, notions and equipment I will need to build my final collection at LCI.

 

Many people during my last few projects asked how they could help, and realistically, I need two things: 1. More hours in a day (which I haven't found someone to help with yet) and 2. Money to be able to buy the luxury materials I would like to use for my creations.

 

Because I am studying full time, I am only able to have a casual job and am only able to work on the weekends. I also receive youth allowance. However, the amount changes monthly depending on how much I work.

I do my best to save as much as possible, but with casual work and an inconsistent allowance, it's difficult to budget effectively.

 

I would love to be able to make and design costumes for film, television or theatre! This money could be the difference between getting my dream job in an industry that I'm really passionate about. All funds raised here will go directly to my studies and building my final collection. I promise to keep this page updated on my progress and be transparent about how I spend the money.

 

The entertainment, arts and events industry suffered catastrophically during Melbourne's lockdowns, and now we are slowly crawling out of the rubble to pick up where we left off.

I, like many others, want to be a part of that. So if you can donate anything, even just the price of your regular coffee, it will help me tremendously.
