On Friday, November 12, Hanna Anthony unexpectedly passed away in her sleep, leaving so many of us broken hearted. She was the kindest and most caring wife, sister, Auntie, great-aunt, cousin, friend, teacher, and mentor.
Hanna Anthony dedicated her life to serving the special education community as both a teacher and a mentor. As a teacher, many of her students would tell of how Ms. Anthony would give them a dollar to use at the student store during lunch. She would keep single dollar bills in the drawer of her desk. When she saw a student who was working hard or just needed a pick-me-up, she would give them a dollar to buy a treat. This small act of kindness made such a difference in so many students' lives. As an aide in her classroom, I saw so many smiles and so many days made because of this unique-to-Ms. Anthony tradition.
In honor of Hanna, please make a donation to an organization of your choice or consider making a donation to this GoFundMe for the Special Education Department at Bob Miller Middle School. Your gift would go towards keeping Ms. Anthony's tradition active.
