Hannah’s Tanzania Fundraising Page

My name is Hannah and i'm currently a third year Primary Teaching student studying in St. Patrick's College, DCU.

I have been given the opportunity to volunteer as part of the DCU Tanzania Pre Primary Education programme.

The project involves myself, and five other students from DCU, travelling to the city of Morogoro, located in the eastern part of Tanzania in July 2025. During the project we will be working with local pre-primary teachers to aid in their teaching, provide resources to enhance their learning activities, and most importantly, to enrich the learning experience of the children in these communities.

I am currently training for and will be taking part in a half marathon ‘Rith na mban’ in ballybofey in April in aid of the project to help fundraise a sum of €3000. The money raised will go towards the travel costs, and resources that will help enhance these classrooms for future teaching and learning experiences.

I will be travelling in early July 2025 where volunteering will take place in multiple schools in the region. Myself and five other students will be travelling with three lecturers from DCU who have been working continuously on this project since 2019. They have been working closely with the teachers in Tanzania by providing them with resources, valuable teaching methods, building new classrooms for the children and overall providing many opportunities for less fortunate children in Tanzania.
