This is for my daughter. She's 30 years old. We’re desperately trying to help her heal from CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) / M.E (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis). There is approx 260,000 people suffering from this illness in the UK, but numbers could be a lot higher due to how the illness is often misdiagnosed.

It is an incredibly isolating and debilitating illness, leaving severe sufferers, like my daughter, totally bed bound, unable to sit up or stand. Alongside this she battles with a full range of neurological symptoms - tingling, numbness, tinnitus, heaviness in the whole body, as well as brain fog, loss of cognitive function, multiple chemical sensitivity, hyper sensitivity to light, sound, smell, touch, POTS as well as extreme migraines, causing her to use an eye mask 24/7 also because of the light sensitivity.

She often loses the use of her jaw, unable to speak at times, or do simple tasks such as feed herself, and this is on top of the extreme fatigue most commonly associated with ME/CFS.

This has been the reality of my daughter's life for the past 2 years. Before that, the condition impacted her life, but she wasn't bed bound.  We have tried everything Western medicine has had to offer, but as the illness is still so under researched, there is very little knowledge of it in mainstream western medicine. Rather than wait for medicine to catch up with the illness, my daughter has found that scalp acupuncture has caused relief of her symptoms. Before starting the acupuncture in January 2020 she was unable to move, hold her phone, speak, chew etc. With the sessions she completed some months ago, she found pain relief and gained a little movement back to her body. Scalp acupuncture is an extremely specialised area of acupuncture which means it's very difficult to find a good practitioner that is able to do home visits. We found such a person and my daughter was fortunate enough to have some sessions some months ago but due to the cost (and added cost of having someone come to the home to do it), we can no longer afford the treatments.
Scalp acupuncture is used for neurological disorders of the central nervous system. Most often it is used successfully for Paralysis, Stroke, ME/CFS, Parkinson’s and many more.

The purpose of this page is to raise money for scalp acupuncture, which is mainly used for neurological conditions. so we're able to have consistent sessions over an extended period of time (3-6 months). Unfortunately it is quite expensive as 10 sessions cost over £2,000. Please help us reach the goal of £10,000 and help bring back some semblance of normality to a woman whose entire life has been turned upside down by this cruel illness.
