Hannah's Field School

Hello! My name is Hannah Elicker and I am currently a Junior at the University of West Georgia.  I am majoring in Anthropology with a minor in Criminology. In order for me to graduate with a degree in Anthropology, I must participate in a field methods/ field school program.  I heard of the field school that I would like to attend last school year, but I could not go due to pre-existing summer commitments. It is Slavia Field School in Mortuary Archaeology located in Drawsko, Poland. It is a four week methods course that will allow me to actually go out in the field and excavate skeletons and examine them in the lab. I am extremely interested in Osteology, Bioarchaeology, and Forensics, so this is right up my alley.  The money raised will be used to cover the tuition ($2,990), transportation (which is looking at around ($1800), and a passport. I have to pay for the school by April 1.  This opportunity means a lot to me because I have a passion to explore, but I have never been out of the country. I feel that this experience will give me more than a classroom based course and it will make me become more competitive in the field of Anthropology.
