Hannah-Mae was an extremely active member of society and in her church's youth group, Cornerstone Chapel. At Clarke County High School she was a member of the Tennis, Varsity Cheer, and track teams. The Honors Art Society, DECA, School Ambassadors committee, Yearbook and Fellowship of Christian Athletes are a few of the many activites where Hannah invested her talents and time before illness struck. She also worked part time at the local Berryville Dermatologist office. She was first runner up for Junior Miss (2015) and Miss Clarke County Fair Pageant (2016). She also recieved the Most Photogenic award.
Six months ago Hannah-Mae Bryson, at age 16, went from being a straight A student, physically active athlete, and positive member of our community to a chronically ill, bedridden, and homebound student. Hannah suffers from an extreme headache which began with horrible vertigo. Children's Hospital said she had evidence of a Cerebral Venus Sinus Thrombosis in her brain and other doctors say that a mystery virus like Enchiphilitis or Meningitis must have caused swelling in her brain. Now, her brain is misfiring. In addition to the uncontrollable headache, she suffers from blurred/double vision which causes her eyes not to normally track simultaniously. She has chronic pain all over her body.
The goal is $75,000 since that is about what the family's current medical bills add up to for Hannah-Mae. Hannah-Mae's current internal medicine doctor visits have been costing anywhere from $350-$750 per visit, including medicine. Just even gas and food have been a financial strain. Hannah's family is not insured and own a small Clarke County based company. Your donations will not only be helping her with regular doctor visits, but also our future goals; striving to get a neurological diagnostic team that will help us with a further diagnosis and a recovery treatment plan, along with continued auto-immune testing. Also, an updated head MRI and a 3 part back MRI. And of course there will be physical therapy down the road.
Hannah has remained as positive as one can be throughout these trying times even though her symptoms have not improved. The love and support Hannah is receiving has encouraged her to just be able to get out of bed. Although for every good day and adventure out, there are serval days of recovery that follow. We are hoping these funds will help get Hannah-Mae the medical attention and treatment she so much deserves. We are determined to find a cure for her complex medical condition. Any donation is very much appreciated as we embark on this emotional and financially stressful journey.
We can't thank you enough. May God bless you and bring hope for Hannah-Mae.
