Hannah Tri-ing to raise awareness about Concussion
Hi I’m Hannah and I’ve decided to undertake the challenge of an Olympic distance Triathlon on 28th July. I recently suffered a complex concussion from a head-on-head clash in Football and consequently experienced the alien reality of a brain injury. To understand why I am putting myself through the pain of a Triathlon, read my story here...

For those who want a quick version; the past few months have been distressing and petrifying. My concussion left me with an under-performing brain where I was forgetful and confused. I felt helpless, restless and uncharacteristically low and anxious. Unfortunately, I am not the anomaly here. Many others feel this way and it has resulted in people taking their own lives. We need to change this and I believe the starting point is to talk. If you know someone recovering from a concussion, don't just ask how they're doing, really check that they're okay.
I'm raising money in aid of Headway - the brain injury association, who's mission is to promote understanding of all aspects of brain injury and to provide information, support and services to people with a brain injury, their families and carers. All donations will be going to a great cause and will be very much appreciated.
