I have known that I wanted to work with refugees since my time at UW Madison. After I graduated, I joined Youth With A Mission (YWAM) where my first role was as a teacher’s assistant for an ESL school. Over the past six years I have also taught English in refugee camps and led an ESL team through Open Doors for Refugees.
This coming January, I am hoping to get further training to help refugees learn English by receiving my TEFL certification (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). I have applied to Wesli English language school in Madison, Wisconsin for this certification. This training will be completely online due to COVID restrictions.
As you may know, my salary with Youth With A Mission is 100% raised from donor support from people like you! In order to do this school, I need to raise money for the TEFL certification and for a new computer since my eight year old computer has stopped connecting to the internet. The cost of the five week training is $2,400, and the cost of a new computer costs $1,200. Would you consider donating towards this by January 10th? All donations will go towards this work and enable me to continue to help others. I would also appreciate it if you would share this fund with others who may be interested in contributing!
