HANNAH'S MITZVAH PROJECT
Hi! My name is Hannah and as I prepare for my Bat Mitzvah in late March I will be working on a Mitzvah project. Mitzvah means "good deed" and I have decided to work with the Center for Food Action (CFA) for my project. This organization lends a lot of support to people in my community who need financial assistance. CFA has many programs. The program I have chosen is called Weekend Snack Packs. These are food packs which are sent home from school with children who may not have enough to eat over the weekend. I am happy that it will directly benefit children in my area.
There are a couple of parts to my project. The first is to raise money to purchase the food which will go into the snack packs. I am doing that through this page AND by baking and setting up sales of the pastries in my town.
The second part of my project will be the assembly of the snack packs. This will happen on the day of my Bat Mitzvah . I am going to dedicate time at my party to work with my family and friends to get this done.
$2,250 will allow me to buy the supplies for 500 snack packs (they are $4.50/each). Your online contribution will go directly to CFA and I will purchase the supplies from them.
