Hannah Merkle

Hannah was diagnosed and hospitalized for treatment of Myasthenia Gravis (MG) in mid-December of 2022 at age 20. This extremely rare autoimmune disease causes weakness of arm or leg muscles, double vision, drooping eyelids, and difficulties with speech, chewing, swallowing and breathing. MG is not curable but can be managed with treatments. Since her diagnosis, Hannah has been placed on a ventilator multiple times due to her severe symptoms and has been ongoing plasma transfusions along with other extensive treatments.

Hannah is a loving daughter, sister and aunt. She is a loyal friend, a dog mom to her rottweiler Nova and a lover of all animals! Hannah loves animals so much that she chose to work in an animal hospital.

Hannah has made significant progress since beginning her treatments and was so proud to say she can do things as small as smiling, speaking clearly and raising her arms for the first time in months before even her diagnosis was made! Unfortunately, Sunday, Hannah was placed back on the ventilator suddenly and will be continuing her ongoing and lengthy treatment.

Since Hannah's diagnosis, she has been out of work and in the hospital for almost 2 months in total. Hannah and her family have undergone serious unexpected expenses. The goal of this is to ease the financial stress and focus on the true goal...to have Hannah healthy and smiling again!

Any amount is appreciated!
