Hi everyone,

My name is Hannah McHenry, and I have been selected to represent Australia in the Pan American Oceania Judo Championships this April in Peru! Competing on the international stage is an incredible honour, but I need your support to help me get there.

I started judo when I was just two years old, and it has been a part of my life ever since. To chase my dream, I train full-time while completing my high school education remotely, balancing intense training, international travel, and schoolwork.

I have dedicated my life to this sport, and through hard work, discipline, and relentless training, I’ve been able to achieve:

✅ Ranked #7 in the World

✅ Asian Cadet Cup Gold Medalist

✅ Asian Junior Cup Silver & Bronze Medalist

✅ 7th Place in Gyor Cadet Cup

This opportunity to compete in Peru is a major stepping stone towards my ultimate goal—representing Australia at the Commonwealth Games and Olympics. The experience gained from these international competitions is critical for my development, giving me the match experience I need to continue improving.

Unlike many other sports, judo in Australia receives limited funding. Athletes who want to compete internationally must pay the bulk of expenses themselves, including travel, and competition costs.
