Help Hanna, Ella, Benjamin, and Joseph Heal

Dear Family and Friends of the Jaye Family,

On April 4th, 2023, the lives of three beautiful children, Ella (15), Benjamin (11) and Joseph (5) were forever impacted by the tragic and sudden loss of their father, David Jaye. This chapter in their lives is one they will painfully never forget, but we are appealing to the hearts, kindness, and generosity of their steadfast community to show those children that they are loved and supported by so many others in their lives. We also want to be bold in sending a message to everyone that it is okay to solicit help in a time of need, and it is not only our responsibility but our privilege to help our friends when they need it. We can’t take away their loss, but we can rally around them and help this family start over together with a new footing in the wake of this tragedy.

While it is of course emotionally devastating to lose a father, it has also been financially crippling in numerous ways. The family has been in the trenches, dealing with significant financial stress as a result of circumstances Hanna and her children had no part of. Their lack of financial security is not lost on the children. Ella is worried about where they will live next as their lease winds down and their financial obligations peak. Benjamin is not only struggling with what his future entails but he is so sad and confused in coming to terms with the loss of his father. It is nothing short of heartbreaking to hear Benjamin share that the baseball field, once a place of joy where he would connect with his father and pitch balls back and forth (and did even on the Sunday before his passing), is now a painful reminder of his dad being gone.

Our hope is that this fundraising campaign provides the resources needed to help cover countless bills, medical expenses, insurance, and most importantly helps put a deposit on a sound, secure and safe rental in Atlanta. The children need Hanna now more than ever! Hanna is doing all that she can to support her family, returning to work just two days after David's death despite all that she's going through because she cannot afford to miss a day’s paycheck. That alone is not enough, however.

Every donation big or small will help to make a difference in this family's life, especially for the children. Even a small donation can help ease the financial burden that they are facing. We want to make sure that Hanna, Ella, Benjamin, and Joseph feel our support and most importantly that they have a safe place to land as they navigate their new beginning.
