UPDATE:  JUNE 28TH

Dear holy, benefactors,

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your sacrifices for the Hanlon family!
I will be taking down this Go Fund Me Page in the next day or two (if I can figure out
how to do it) but wanted to say that ALL of you will forever be in our prayers and hearts.
May Our Lord bless you abundantly with His peace under His "star-studded" sky!

In Christ,

The Hanlons & Flanerys

SANCTUARY

STARS

To all our friends
We cannot see
We'll pray for you
On bended knee

On Christmas morn
At stable's side
Where Christ the King
Once did abide.

Amidst the stench
Of creatures low
Yet star above
Sent down its glow.

First Sanctuary light
Bold thing
A beacon for
The hidden King.

And when bad men
Snuff earthly light
Stars are born
To light the night.

That's why He put the stars
So much
Up in the sky
Where men can't touch.

For candled flames
Men can bring low
Sanctuary stars
Won't lose their glow.

So at each stable
Be not forlorn
If bad men say
"He was not born!"

Look up O man
The sky is flooded...
With Sanctuary light
Sanctuary-star studded!

"Painful trials strengthen our faith and make it purer, more supernatural; the soul believes, not because of the consolation that faith gives it, not because it trusts in its feelings or enthusiasm, not even in the little it does understand of the divine mysteries, but it believes only because God has spoken. When the Lord wishes to lead souls to a more intimate union with Himself, He almost always makes them undergo such trials; then is the moment to give Him testimony of our faith by throwing ourselves, with our eyes closed, into His arms." - Divine Intimacy

UPDATE, JUNE 24TH:  THREE NUNS

      AND

        A

     MAN

Tim’s mom, brother and his wife generously took the seven oldest Hanlon children down to their Lake of the Ozark house this past Friday to give the children a change of scenery and Tim and Colleen a break.  Tim and Colleen with the two youngest, left our house so we might have a break, which we didn’t need, to  stay at his mom’s house in St. Peters so they could quietly figure out all they needed to do.

At 10:45 pm, Sat. night, as I was getting ready for bed my cell phone rang and it said it was from the Convent, where Colleen’s sister is a Nun in Kansas City.

Nuns don’t call home at 10:45 pm EVAH, unless something’s wrong.

“Mother of pearl!  What fresh new hell is this?”  I thought to myself as I answered the phone trembling.

“Mom.”  Our daughter, Sr. Mary Bernard questioned.

“Oh, dear, God, what’s wrong?”  I asked in a calm manner.  (Not!)

“We have a problem.  Three of the Nuns along with a man and his 10 yr. old daughter are stuck at Lambert Airport as there are such terrible thunderstorms over Kansas City they couldn’t land and had to fly back to St. Louis where they were grounding planes because of the weather. They tried to get a hotel and even a rental car but everything around the airport was booked and they couldn’t get a car to drive farther away to stay out in the suburbs.”

The Nuns and man and his daughter had been flying from the east coast where they had attended the Ordinations of new young priests in the Society of St. Pius X Order.

One of the Sisters who had been in the Air Force before  entering the Convent said later that she was turning green as they tried multiple times to land only to be pulled back up by high winds.  When the emergency lights and bells came on and she heard the Pilot over the intercom say, “What’s your vector, Victor?”  She knew they were in trouble.  That’s when the Pilot said to fasten their seatbelts even tighter as they were heading back to St. Louis.

“Can you pick them up and bring them to your house”

“WHAT???!!  I’ve got boxes of clothes and food and toys

scattered everywhere, I have no room!!”

What to do, what to do … of course!!  Call the homeless couple!

Told Sister to stay by the phone while I called Colleen and I would get back to her, “…and pray like hell!!”

Tim and Colleen had their Suburban with them and could fit 5 people, both my husband and I don’t even have cars

big enough to fit 5 people, we would have had to take two cars.  The other thing was they weren’t far from the airport and Tim’s mom’s house had 4 empty bedrooms, plenty spacious and no boxes of clothes, toys, foods, etc. crowded into it.

I started to call Colleen and couldn’t stop laughing at how things were going.  I thought I was under control, but often when things are going wrong I laugh uncontrollably.

“Mom?”  Colleen answered very warily, “What’s wrong?”

“We have an emergency, we have an emergency!!  There are three nuns and a man…..!!”  I started laughing hysterically and couldn’t get anything else out.

“What do you mean there are three nuns and a man?”

“It’s an emergency, there are three nuns and a man?!!”

“Three nuns and a man!!!”  What was wrong with Colleen, why did she keep repeating everything I said.

“Tim!!  Something’s wrong!” She woke poor Tim up out of a sound sleep.  “There’s a man at my sister’s Convent and he’s doing something to three nuns!!”

“No, not at the Convent, at the airport!!”

“Tim, there’s a man at the airport doing something to three nuns with a man!”

“No!”  I was really laughing now, “It’s three men and a nun and they’re at Lambert Airport!”

Finally, my husband grabbed the phone from me & I slapped him.  He looked at me shocked and I said,
“I needed that.”

Colleen got to the airport and all was well…

The moral of the story, as my grandmother Marguerite Malarkey always said…

“There is nothing so bad that it can’t be worse.”

UPDATE:  JUNE 21st:
Thank you so very much to all those who have donated monies, clothes & prayers!  The children now have plenty of clothes & Tim & Colleen are trying to work with their Insurance Co. to get a house to rent but.... when they hear "Nine children" it's, "Not sure we can do that."  So.....the Ins. Co. has told them to add $500 to whatever they're asking for and then some of them have said, "Well, okay, maybe we can work something out."  <Sigh>  everything is about money!  Please keep us in your prayers & we pray for all of you.

I tell Colleen & Tim, "Someday you'll all look back on this and .... plough into a parked car!!"

JUNE 19TH UPDATE:
The 2 oldest Hanlon boys served their Uncle's, Fr. Flanery, Mass of Thanksgiving this morning to praise Our Lord for no one being hurt or burned in their home fire.  The Mass was also offered to ask Christ's blessings on all you dear souls who have helped them in their hour of need!  They are so grateful for the donations of clothing, cash & prayers.  Extra prayers were said for the intentions of the Fire Fighters who risked their lives, which they do daily...."no greater love".

"The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, blessed be the Lord"!

UPDATE
:   I had our goal as $1000 but this tragedy is more needing of like $15,000.   Dear God, I hate to ask, but everything is gone for them and until Insurance kicks in, hopefully soon, we're doing our best.   PRAYERS for help AND thanksgiving, no one died, thank God, are so appreciated of course!

Yesterday, Sunday, June 16th, Fathers Day, my daughter and son-in-laws home burned down.  By the grace of God no one was home as we were all at a Lake in Jefferson County picnicking, swimming & celebrating Fathers Day!

They have Home Owners Ins. but if anyone wanted to help so they can purchase clothes and other essentials for now it would be greatly appreciated.

Their home is a total loss and they were left with their swimming suits on, flip-flops and a few towels.  BUT - they have their lives and we thank God!!

As of now the Fire Inspector thinks it started in a light on the outside of
their garage, possible a short of some kind.  We're so grateful it didn't happen during the night!

Anything you might be able to donate would be deeply cherished from a Quarter to TWO Quarters!!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Below is a silly funny "ditty" about the HANLON-CLANLON I wrote after the birth of their 8th child, Fulton.

TULLAMORE

DEW

I am a fanlon

Of the Clanlon

Hanlons of Miss – ouri.

Went to a patch

Where pumpkins do hatch

And even fed a Joe – y.

Oh, Fulton Gerard

Life won’t be hard

Seven siblings, your life, protects.

Though with Mom and your Dad

Your grandparents, bad,

Aunts and Uncles, the Dew infects.

But our infection’s contagious

We’re sometimes outrageous

By the world we’re considered rejects.

May we all be in Heaven

An hour or seven

Fore the devil knows, or suspects!!
