Hiya,

our names are Gigi and Rory, and on the 1st of January of 2026 our Hanky, a six-year old Frenchy-Staffy cross, attacked a tiger snake in our backyard and was bitten. Despite rushing him straight to the vet where they administered two vials of anti-venom, with hopeful moments for recovery, he passed away due to respiratory paralysis from the venom an hour later.

Rory had had Hank for over three years and had been with him for many milestones including moving from NSW to Melbourne. Hank became such an important part of our relationship and our home, and we are really feeling the loss of a family member.

The reason why we are setting up the go fund me is because the anti-venom vials cost $1000 each with the total vet visit coming to $3800. Plus an extra $310 for Hank's cremation. We are both students living out of home and Rory has been working towards top surgery for the past year, so neither of us were in a position for those costs. Hank's vet visit and death were quite a shock emotionally and financially, so we're reaching out for just a tiny bit of support so that we can continue to heal without as much stress.
