Hi, we’re Jake and Grace, and we’re raising money for our cats Hank and Lou’s back to back emergency medical bills.
Wednesday night (2/21) we got home from work and found Hank breathing erratically, not moving, and refusing food. After taking him to the emergency vet, we found out that his bladder is completely blocked, causing him extreme pain, making him unable to urinate, and potentially damaging his kidneys.
Unfortunately, the only treatment for him was a costly multi-day stay at the vet, where he was sedated, had a catheter inserted, and pumped with fluids to flush out his bladder and clear the blockage. He was then sent home on lots of medication with the possibility of him getting blocked again, having to repeat this entire treatment, and possibly even surgery. In addition to all that, he’ll have to be on expensive prescription food for the rest of his life.
The total amount for his treatment is $4,929.66.
Grace and myself both work in the service industry, so an unexpected bill of nearly $5000 is, frankly, an unbelievable financial burden. 100% of the money raised will be used to pay for Hanks (and now Lou’s) treatment and medication.
If you’ve ever met Grace or I, you know this cat means the world to us. Please consider donating to help the world’s goofiest, sweetest, weirdest little guy. Any amount helps tremendously.
*UPDATE*
Today (3/5) I woke up to my 9 month old cat, Lou, throwing up. She couldn’t keep any food down and didn’t seem to be drinking water, so I called the same emergency vet Hank was treated at, and they urged me to come in. Turns out, not two weeks after Hanks hospitalization, Lou now also needs to stay at the vet overnight. Lou has a urinary tract infection and her liver values are off the charts, leading the vets to think she might have something wrong with her liver or gallbladder. The estimate I was given adds another $4500 on top of Hank’s $5000.
In total, I’ve accrued nearly $10,000 in vet bills in last two weeks and could really use your help. As stated above, 100% of the money raised will be used to help pay off these bills.
