Hank James Hickey was born on Mother’s Day, 2025, with much anticipation, into a wonderful home full of love and support. In the words of his mother, Elisa:

“Bryan and I recently learned our beautiful, perfect, perfect, perfect son Hank James was born profoundly and permanently deaf in both ears.”

Sweet Hank was recently fitted for his first pair of hearing aids and will need new ones every 2 weeks as his little body will grow so rapidly this first 6 months. The hearing aids are primarily for insurance purposes to demonstrate the need for cochlear implants, which could be as early as 9 months old for Hank.

Bryan and Elisa, Hank’s parents, are well equipped to handle what lies ahead in this all-encompassing medical and educational journey for Hank to gain and learn how to process hearing, as they are both educators by profession. Financially, these expenses will and already have begun to pile up overwhelmingly so. Any help you could offer to aid in Hank’s Hearing Journey would be so appreciated.
