Hanky needs your help ❤️

Hi Friends & Family,
This is not the news we want to share with everyone… Our big lovey sweet boy Hank has been diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer).
Read more about osteosarcoma below:
Hank started to develop lameness and discomfort in his front leg this summer. Unsure of what was causing it, we were finally able to get tests done. He’s been tender in part of his leg and limping consistently over the last 3 months. We took him to the vet for x-rays on Sept 27th which uncovered a lesion in his humorous bone. Unfortunately, this kind of cancer is extremely common in large breed dogs Thankfully the cancer hasn’t spread to his lungs and is still isolated in his front right leg.
This isn’t an easy diagnosis for us to receive, but we want to do our absolute best to keep Hank happy and as comfortable as possible for the foreseeable future. We will be seeking traditional veterinary care + holistic veterinary care for him. Looking at options for radiation, chemo, acupuncture, laser treatments, CBD, and immune building to keep him comfortable and for pain management.
We have never had to ask or post anything like this before, but if anyone is able to help Hank and donate to Hanky’s vet bill fund, we would be eternally grateful.
We know that Hank has brought comfort and love to a lot of people in our little community and we want him to live out the rest of his life as happy and loved as he possibly can ❤️
Below is a photo of Hank getting his first acupuncture treatment on October 17th, 2023.

About Hank - AKA Hanky, Hanky Doodle, Bubbas.
Hank is a Pyrenees Bullmastiff mix. He is 11.5 years old and currently lives in Los Angeles with his mom and dad.
Jess adopted Hank in January 2016 when she was living in Oklahoma. He was 4 years old when she saved him from the shelter. Hank made the journey to Los Angeles at the end of 2018 and gained the world's best dog dad (Saad) in the process.
Hank loves to snuggle on the couch, eat snacks, go on car rides, and enjoy camping adventures with mom and dad. He is a sweet, gentle soul and has shown an immense amount of love and emotional support to anyone who has become a friend, dog sitter, auntie, and uncle.

How do we plan to use these funds?
Veterinary Care Overview
We are looking at two different kinds of veterinary care for Hank's diagnosis. Traditional veterinary medicine and holistic care. Both kinds of care will provide pain management and work towards containing the cancer in a smaller singular area so that it doesn't spread as quickly to his lungs and other parts of his body.
We have begun a monthly package treatment at Holistika Veterinary Clinic. This includes acupuncture, laser treatments, and immune building.
Our biggest hurdle right now is his traditional veterinary care. We need to do SRT Radiation treatments to slow down the growth of tumor cells and manage pain.
We are actively looking across the LA area and possibly Tijuana/Baja to try and find the most affordable treatment plan.
Recommended treatment and breakdowns:
VCA ESTIMATE - $12.5k - $12.75
HOLISTIKA - $1,695 per month
- 4x acupuncture treatments
- 4x IV ozone with UVB treatment
- 1x per month doctor check-in and exam
- 1x per month fecal transplant
- 2x IV vitamin C
- Unlimited monthly laser treatments (up to 3x a week)

We are beyond thankful to anyone who is able to donate and help Hank's treatment fund. Although we know Osteosarcoma can be an aggressive cancer, we want to do as much as we can for Hank in the remaining time he has here with us.
