Hank Cartwright Needs a Hand

Hey Portland People--Our dear friend, Hank (or Hankie), is in need of his community.  As you may know he has had a few health set backs since the beginning of the year.  First he went in for some scary heart and respiratory issues due to complications from Pneumonia and he is working hard to resolve with food changes (as he says, no more eating cheetos and gummi bears in front of the tv). And then he got hit with a malignant cancer in his colon which was successfully operated on and now he has some post op work ahead. In the meantime, he is out of work for at least the next 3 months for recovery--(hope he will really take the time to heal). Although he has insurance to help cover his medical bills, he does not have anything that can get him through his time of recovery from home without work.  To add to that, he has a precarious living situation, which  we hope can be resolved.  As you know, if you talk to him, he will make light of this situation and try to make you laugh about it. And you will. And then, I hope, you will think about what our funny man needs and give him that. He feels very awkward about asking for this, so I'm asking for him-- he needs financial help. 

With the empathic knowledge that this is a financially challenging time for all of us, and we are giving to so many important causes right now, I want to encourage you to help this one man and give what you can.
