Hani's Fight (2nd round)

Donation protected
Hani was first diagnosed with leukemia in September of 2015 at the age of 13. For those of you that are not familiar with this type of cancer "Leukemia is a cancer of the blood or bone marrow."
She received treatment for it at Kaiser Fontana. They’ve been amazing with her from day 1.

During her first year of treatment, her mom passed away in June of 2016 in a car accident. It was hard for her and her older siblings, Jakob & Kalee.

Being in home hospital for 7th & 8th grade school year, she missed out on the adventures of those first years of young adulthood. She missed being around friends and peers her own age.
When it came time to go back to school, she was ready to hit the ground running. She was still receiving chemo treatment while going to school.

In January of 2018 we got to celebrate her last chemotherapy session in the clinic. 2 years and 4 months, she was finally free.
It wasn’t completely over.

We still went once a month to the clinic to make sure she was still healthy.

She did get to celebrate her Make-a-Wish. She saved it until she was feeling healthy and strong. She was able to visit the Supernatural set and meet the cast in August of 2019.  This was such a fantastic gift & highlight for Hani inst she beautiful in that picture?!?

Fast forward to 2020 junior year of high school.
She signed up and was accepted to the early college program through her high school- Apple Valley High School (College professors come to her high school to teach).

Her last day of on campus school was March 13th- She started getting tired and had headaches a little into April. She had a scheduled blood-work appointment that was cancelled due to Covid-19.

Her cancer has come back!! Needless to say we were all shocked & once again humbled by this blood & bone marrow Cancer that threatened Hani once more.

After 2 years and 3 months- we are back at the beginning.
Her first chemotherapy session was on April 25th.

Things feel more complicated this time around-  when I asked Hani how she felt, she said: "Auntie , I will survive. I will beat this, I have to for my family."
I told her : " she is the bravest 17 year old I know."

she’s had some complications with sinus issues and it is causing a trickling affect which the doctors have chosen to schedule sinus surgery a.s.a.p.

They’re going in with a stronger treatment this time around, they are hitting this Leukemia HARD and FAST, Hani still smiling through it all even though her teenage heart & mind are trying to cope with loss once again ( loss of not seeing her friends for a while, loss of her senior year being threatened, loss of energy & interactions, her beautiful hair).

We hope to be home again soon, the hospital during Covid-19 is hard.
Visitations are strict and we understand and respect the reasons why.

I am asking once again to help Ryan & his wife Pam with some financial assistance.
Times like this with hospitals stays lasting any where from 3 days straight to two and half weeks and counting, they need our assistance.

Gas, food, small items to help them be okay at hospital and assist Hani in the battle.
I hope we can show our girl that once again, we will not let our support falter. During this time Prayer for her & her family is essential and we are grateful for any and all you send.
While you say those prayers, please add the medical staff to your prayer list. We are grateful for the team that is taking care of our girl.
