Honouring My Mother's Legacy
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Jim. This is my mother, a woman whose courage and love have defined my life. A year and a half ago, she was diagnosed with late-stage dementia and dysphagia, a twist of fate that has challenged us both in unimaginable ways.
She is my hero, a survivor of the Vietnam War, who risked everything to bring me to Canada as one of the 'boat people' in 1980. Her strength has always been my guiding light.
As her only son and caregiver, I've devoted myself to her full-time care, determined to fulfill her final wish: to be laid to rest beside me in a side-by-side crypt. This is my promise to her, a testament to the life of sacrifice and love she has led.
I’ve exhausted my resources, giving up my job and savings, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I can't place her in a nursing home—not after everything she’s done for me. It's my duty, just as she once cared for me.
We now face the reality that our time together is limited. With only an estimated six months left, I am reaching out for help to fulfill her final wish. The cost of a side-by-side crypt is more than I can bear alone, but together, we can make this a reality.
Any donation, big or small, will be cherished. If there are any excess funds, they will go towards dementia research, to help others facing this cruel disease.
Funds will be used for:
Approximate total cost $72,000.00 CAD.
-burial costs for a side-by-side crypt.
Any excess funds not used will be donated towards Dementia Research.
Thank you for taking the time to hear our story. Your support means the world to us. Together, we can honor my mother’s legacy, creating a lasting tribute to her courage and love.
Sincerest Regards,
Jim.
