Handivan: Wheels for Dan
Donation protected
I was born with TAR Syndrome. Basically, I was born with no arms and as a result of irregular growth, I had one leg amputated and now wear a prosthetic leg. I have the capability to drive, but need the funds in order to obtain, modify, and equip a vehicle.
Despite this obstacle in my life, I am involved at my church as a youth leader, Sunday school teacher, singer in the worship band, and other various roles. I graduated from Biola University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Biblical Studies, as well as a Master of Sciences degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Bellevue University. I also am currently a cast member at Disneyland, using my communication degree at the main entrance as a park greeter. One of roles at Disneyland is being a working lead, so I utilize my industrial and organizational psychology degree in that capacity as a leader. My ultimate aspirations in life are work with others by helping them in the workplace, either in Human Resources or as a manager in an organization. One of my passions include guiding others to find their purpose in life. I have started a ministry called Born Like This Ministry and the message is that everyone was born for a reason. Because I don't drive, I take the bus, find rides, or use my wheelchair as a mode of transportation. As involved as I am, my greatest burden is reliable transportation. I often rely on the mercy of others, but have to plan my day extensively which adds stress to my life. Some of the things I have to deal with on a daily basis are asking people for rides, adjusting to others' schedules, and needing to have more flexibility with my time. I need the funds for a vehicle. Please donate in order for me to achieve my goal of mobility!
Thank you so much and God bless. To God be the glory.
