Inline skates are my mobility aid.
I skate 12 miles through rain and darkness in San Francisco — not for attention, but because skating alleviates severe pain. Skating is not optional for me. It functions as Physical Therapy that allows me to manage pain and survive.
People shout “DARTH MAUL!” when they see me skating with a dual lightsaber — but what they don’t see is the disability behind it, or the discrimination that comes with using skates as a non-traditional mobility aid.
Why I’m Fundraising
Recent denials, barriers, and escalating costs make it harder to keep moving safely without support.
Because using inline skates as a mobility aid has led to repeated barriers:
• Being denied access
• Being questioned or excluded
• Being forced to justify my existence over and over
Skating isn’t a hobby for me. Walking causes severe pain. Skating allows me to move, work, and stay alive.
What the Funds Support
Funds raised will help cover:
• Mobility & safety gear (skates, lightsabers, maintenance)
• Basic survival costs (rent, food, transportation)
• Fighting discrimination so I can continue using my mobility aid without harassment or denial
No luxury. No gimmicks. Just the ability to keep moving.
This is Human Evolution!
Why This Matters
During the pandemic, when everything shut down, I skated alone.
When others were scared to go out, I kept moving.
Rain doesn’t stop me.
Smoke from wildfires doesn't stop me.
Distance doesn’t stop me.
Disability shouldn’t stop anyone.
If you’ve ever been told you don’t belong because your body works differently — you understand why this matters.
Closing Ask
If this resonates, any support helps — whether that’s donating, sharing, or simply bearing witness.
Thank you for seeing me.
