New Van with adaptive equipment for Ken Holloway

My best friend Ken Holloway is a great guy, an avid music fan, a collector of his favorite things, a loving son and always a great friend with the best offbeat sense of humor in any room. Ken has had a spinal cord injury for the past 23 years and has dealt with it using that offbeat sense of humor. He has been gainfully employed as much as possible all that time. He learned to drive again pretty quickly by using adaptive hand/arm controls to control all the functions of the vehicle. It's quite impressive! He drives far better than I do!

Ken deserves to have the dignity and freedom that an independent life with good transportation can offer. He should be able to accept jobs, go to concerts, go to the supermarket and doctors appointments. Recently, his van finally died. A newer one is very pricey. In a perfect world we wouldn't have to look to our friends to help.

The goal is to help him get a NEW or lightly used van with all the equipment he needs to operate it himself, open his life back up, and help him get the life he deserves. *Please* help me help Ken.

Update: So many thanks to the friends that have helped already!! It has become clearer recently that everything is far more expensive that we first thought. It turns out JUST the modifications that allow Ken to operate the vehicle goes more than $73,000! Please give anything you can spare. It ALL helps. We WILL get there!
