Handicap Accessible Vehicle for Barry

On December 23, 2018, our father passed out and fell on his neck causing a horrific spinal cord compression. Injuries sustained from the fall caused paralysis throughout most of his body. He remained hospitalized for 2 weeks, which included spinal surgery, intubation, and a tube feeding placement. Presently, he requires a motorized wheel chair as main source of transportation, has minimal function of his hands and requires someone to feed him at meals. He will require a great deal of assistance once he is discharged in a few weeks. 

He has been living at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange for the last 2 1/2 months receiving the best care. He's in great spirits and  has been kicking ass in physical therapy.  While he has made great strides in improving physical capabilities, he has still a very long way to go. He will still require many assistive devices to help him with his daily activities when he is released. Due to the need of a motorized wheelchair, our parents will need a handicap accessible car. They have found a vehicle retrofitted for my father's wheelchair which will cost $35,000. Both of our parents are retired and due to the other myriad of other medical needs (live-in home care provider, medical equipment, home modifications) money is not readily available. Insurance does not pay for the many services he requires. Please help our dad avoid having to rely on paid car services to get to and from physical therapy, other doctors appointments, as well as live his life as normally as possible after discharge. Many of you have asked how you could help, this one would be appreciated the most at this time.
